Eligibility Criteria for HEC Chinese Government Scholarship
The following are the requirements for Pakistani students to be eligible for the HEC Chinese Government Scholarship:
- Nationality: The applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan or Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
- Undergraduate Programs:
- 12 years of education (FA/FSc or equivalent A-level) is required.
- At the time of application, the candidate must be younger than 25..
- Master’s Programs:
- Must be a Bachelor’s degree holder.
- At the time of application, the candidate must be younger than 35.
- Doctoral Programs:
- Must be a Master’s degree holder.
- The applicant should be under the age of 40 years at the time of application.
- Incomplete Applications: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Required Documents:
Please take note that in order to apply for the HEC Chinese Government Scholarship, all of these documents must be uploaded online. At this point, hard copies of the applications are not needed. Applications that are incomplete or submitted by hand will never be accepted.

How to Apply
For the HEC Chinese Government Scholarship, apply online at Chinese universities and on the HEC Portal. The Higher Education Commission has provided the entire application process below:
- Visit http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk to apply online. Please choose “Learning Opportunities Abroad” once you have registered and filled up your profile. Once the application has been submitted, obtain a printed copy for the applicant to sign. On December 9, 2024, at 23:59 PM Pakistan Time, the HEC online application platform will close.
- Please update your HEC profile with your most recent email address and cell phone number before applying. The online application system will be quite active in the days preceding the application deadline, so it is recommended that you finish and submit your application as soon as possible. Once the application has been successfully submitted through the HEC portal, keep a paper copy of the application form that you have personally signed.
- Please visit https://etc.hec.gov.pk/#/login to view the deadline and submit an online application for the USAT (undergraduate) and HAT (masters & PhD) tests. You can submit your HAT or USAT results on the HEC portal while submitting your application if you already have a valid score.
- Apply online using program Type: A and Agency No. 5861 at the CSC website at http://www.campuschina.org/ or http://www.csc.edu.cn. Get a copy of the completed application from the Chinese Scholarship Council website, print it out, and keep a signed copy for yourself.
